Ex-Hull City striker Hernandez set for CSKA Moscow switch

CSKA Moscow have moved to the front of the queue to sign former Hull City striker Abel Hernandez.
Hernandez, show scored eight goals in ten league games for the Tigers last season, brought his four-year stint at the KCOM Stadium to an end this summer after rejecting a deal to stay beyond the end of the season, report Hull Daily Mail.
Signed from Palermo for a then club record fee of £10m, the striker was offered a deal which exceeded what the club would normally offer a player in the Championship, but his departure has kick-started a scramble for his signature.
Nevertheless, after weeks of speculation regarding his future, according to transfermarkt.com and reports in Russia, CSKA Moscow have offered him a three-year deal.
The report claims Hernandez will be paid EUR3 million a year in the Russian capital should he sign for the club, who are able to offer the Uruguayan the chance to play in the Champions League for the first time in his career.
However, according to South American news outlet Diario Carioca, Hernandez’s agent Pablo Bentancourt has claimed there is still work to be done before a deal can be signed.
“Hernandez is not a CSKA player yet,” he said. “But we received a good offer from them, we are delighted with this interest. Let’s just wait.”
