Puel admits Mahrez is 'irreplaceable'
Claude Puel admits it will be “impossible” to replace Riyad Mahrez but has promised Leicester will cope without him.The Foxes’ PFA player of the year from their 2016 title triumph finally quit this summer.
The left-footed Algerian ace completed a £60million switch to champions Manchester City.It has left a huge void after Mahrez scored 12 goals and set-up 10 more in the Premier League last season.
Boss Puel admitted: “I think we cannot replace Riyad. It is not possible to find the same player with the same quality.
“All people in football need to understand, of course we cannot replace him.”
Leicester have been linked with Iran’s World Cup star Alireza Jahanbakhsh, Manchester City youngster Patrick Roberts and Lyon forward Bertrand Traore.
