Baggies continuing to monitor Armstrong

West Brom continue to monitor Stuart Armstrong despite the club’s drop into the Championship, according to reports in Scotland.
International midfielder Armstrong is likely to be allowed to leave Celtic this summer, having struggled to hold down a regular spot in the starting XI.
The emergence of young Callum McGregor, as well as intense competition from Patrick Roberts, Scott Sinclair, James Forrest, Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths saw Armstrong’s opportunities rather limited at Parkhead.
Now, as he heads into the final year of his contract, the Daily Record claim that Brendan Rodgers is willing to listen to offers for Armstrong, who scored five times last season.
The 26-year-old was actually linked with a move to The Hawthorns last summer, but the move didn’t materialise and he remained north of the border.
Albion wouldn’t be alone in having such an interest; a move to the Premier League could still be possibility for Armstrong.
For he has admirers at both Southampton and Crystal Palace, too, and such interest could lead to a transfer bidding battle in the coming weeks.
