United opt against Sandro approach

United have no plans to sign Juventus defender Alex Sandro this summer but are in the market for a new left-back if the right option becomes available, according to a top-level source at the club.
The Red Devils want to sign a centre-back, left-back and back-up striker this summer but Jose Mourinho considers Ashley Young and Luke Shaw to be ‘OK’ options, report the Manchester Evening News.
The Portuguese has instead prioritised a move for a centre-back and drawn up an eight-man shortlist: Raphael Varane, Jerome Boateng, Kalidou Koulibaly, Toby Alderweireld, Milan Skriniar, Alessio Romagnoli, Jose Gimenez and Caglar Soyuncu.
